Day 11 and plenty of medals were up for grabs, with some surprise results on the podium… also there were plenty of qualifying games which will determine who competes for certain medals last on the 20th..
So what does that mean for the Winter MicroOlympics? Well, on the face of it the table positions remain unchanged but with THIRTY-FOUR medal games still to come that only tells part of the story.
First off the current rivalry at the top of the league is heating up with the Kingdom of Scone moving up to gold place, pushing the New Weddington Isles into silver place by 2 points thanks to a higher bronze tally and a couple of golds. Third place Woodlandia retains its podium place but is starting to fall away from the top two – 16 points separating them from New Weddington.
The lower half of top three teams stay in place with Shedingeh in fourth closely followed by the Empire of Lehmark in the points – up 6 since yesterday to 107. Transnistria sit on 6th, with a task ahead of them on 87 points.
A significant gap remains with the lower half of the league. Hutt River and the Kingdom of Dubast swapping places to 8th and 9th place with Begley’s Big Blitz team adding a gold and a silver to gain on the 2 teams above them and make breaking into the top half of the lower league still a possibility.
As for the bottom three – Arkadelphia and Vurmond stay put in 10th and 11th with Angosvria adding a lowly silver to prop up the league on 3 points.
And so the games continue with plenty more sport to be played - stayed tuned for more events over the next few weeks!
