Whilst there were no changes to the standings in the table, there were some medal gains that have set up some interesting battles in the league – especially when the postponed games start to be rescheduled….
So, the top three remain with New Weddington Isles in gold place, their single bronze enough to keep them top though the Kingdom of Scone have narrowed the gap to just 3 points with a well-timed gold medal. Woodlandia also gain a bronze medal to stay in third…
The Principality of Shedingeh, the Empire of Lehmark and Transnistria all remain in the top 6, with Shedingeh and Lehmark’s silver medal gains enough to keep them in touch with the top three - Transnistria failing to capitalise with their 2 bronzes seeing them off the pace by 20 points…
Next up we have Hutt River, Dubast and Begley Democratic Republic & Commonwealth’s Big Blitz team. The lower half of the table is quickly becoming a mini-league of its own – with Hutt River in 7th managing just a couple of bronzes, though that’s one more bronze than the Kingdom of Dubast sitting in 8th on 50 points. Begley had a better day, adding gold, silver and bronzes to close the gap and pull away by non-scoring teams Republic of Arkadelphia, Principality of Vurmond and the Confederation Austral of Angosvria who all stay in 10th, 11th and 12th with Angosvria stuck on 3 points with the wooden spoon again.
If you’re lagging in the points fear not – there are rescheduled postponed games from yesterday to add to the medal chances with the weather improving to allow for up to a busy 12 medal games today. So there you go, a low scoring day but promises of a return to business as usual today as the added games start to take effect in the Winter MicroOlympics 2022. Good luck all!
