The People of the New Weddington Isles, and Official Documents

1. The New Weddington Isles operate on a governmental and societal model of Benign Feudalism. This is a departure from the model of Medical European Feudalism, or the Feudal system of the Bailiwick of Sark prior to the Reform (Sark) Law, 2008. In line with the New Weddington Isles’ commitment to the freedoms of all its people and adherence to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights; the lower ranks of peasants, serfs and slaves are abolished in this form, to be replaced with Citizens. These may be physical occupants of the Isles or individuals who have pledged to further the promotion and aims of the Isles in a virtual capacity (notably via social media). They have the facility to submit petitions to the Lord of the Manor via the Court Baron.
2. Above this stratum is the Knightly Class, and above that are the Nobles who pay homage directly to the Head of State; that being the Lord of the Manor. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and its realms is not recognised as Head of State; but is recognised in her capacity as Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, of which the New Weddington Isles is a voluntary member. Nobles and Knights have certain Advisory and Operational powers as detailed with this Constitution and at the discretion of the Lord of the Manor.
3. All current residents of Weddington in the UK are considered to be affiliate New Weddingtonians by default unless they formally opt-out of this status in writing to the Lord of the Manor. They remain British Citizens and subject to UK laws, however application may be made via the usual routes to become a Noble, Knight or Citizens of the New Weddington Isles; for which favourable consideration shall be given.
4. The above population definitions are the sole means of reference to New Weddingtonians regardless of station. As regards Passports, the New Weddington Isles operates an equivalent system of ‘Letters of Safe Conduct’ for New Weddingtonians travelling within and to the New Weddington Isles and to overseas states and our Administrative Consuls. A variant on these Letters may also be applied for by non-New Weddingtonians wishing to travel to the New Weddington Isles in lieu of a Visa. Passport Stamps are available for the home nation passports of travellers to and from the New Weddington Isles and its Administrative Consul in Australia, Canberra.
