Just the 2 days of games this weekend, so results are in for Week 7 – how did YOU do?
New Weddington Isles are looking comfortable at the top of the table - for now – benefitting from a top goal haul of 16 so far this season…
Snapping at the Isles’ heels and still well in the mix are Shedingeh, Lundenwic Lions and Lehmark FC Legends – although the Lions will be disappointed with a joint low score of 16 that leaves them level with Lehmark on 239 season points, separated only by goal difference.
Congratulations to the Novascurra Jesters who top score this week on 40 points and are rewarded a move up from 7th to 5th - this comes at the expense of the United Mathisian Kingdom whose 16 points sees them drop a place to 6th , pushing The Isle of Lithua who continue their descent down the table and drop into the bottom half on 7th place.
Pikeland Holy Crusaders are making 8th place their own at the moment but are facing a challenge from a resurgent Principality of Sealand who have an impressive week – with 24 points enough to boost them from 11th place up to 9th and a chance make an assault on the top half of the table in the coming weeks.
Sealand’s rise pushes Espoona down a place to 10th and Maslatonia down to 11th in the table, though they can take heart by outscoring Shedingeh and the Lions in 2nd and 3rd showing the potential to move up the league is there – and only 4 points separate 11th and 9th place…
And still sat at the wrong end of the table is H.E.R. Saints – although their 12th place spot doesn’t tell the whole story which some tactical subs made by Tony Wiliams bringing in a haul of 31 points - cutting their gap from 11th from 29 to just 18 points.
So there you go – still plenty of mini-battles taking place across the league and both the top and bottom of the table still up for grabs at this early stage…
IMPORTANT NEWS: next weekend is the “International Break” – this is where Premier teams release their overseas to allow them to take part in European and world competition for their country. What this means for the MicroLeague Cup is that you get another weekend off!
A chance to take a breather or to checkout how potential future players perform… a tip – worth waiting until after the break before making transfers due to risk of injuries, and there is still some confusion over quarantine for players travelling to red zone covid countries.
Business as usual will be resumed on Saturday 16th October. More updates to follow – meantime thanks all for making this an absorbing competition so far 😊.
