WEEK 13 UPDATE: The Race for the League Cup Hits Up!

29/11/2021

Well, it’s difficult enough to predict a football result but it’s impossible to predict the English weather!! With this week’s Burnley vs Tottenham called off due to snow fall, those who kept the faith with Kane will have to wait until 2022 for the replay due to fixture congestion in December. And just don’t mention Omicron!!

The real action took place over the weekend in the MicroNations League Cup, with all eyes on the top of the league. Lundenvic Lions continue their push for top spot and are looking like they’re just another top scoring week away from spoiling New Weddington’s party. Not to be outdone, Shedingeh pull off a top weekly score of 53 to come within 2 points for the 500+ point club.

In the rest of the top 6 it’s business as usual with Lehmark Legends in 4th tussling with Novascurra Jesters in 5th and the Isle of Lithua continuing to defy gravity and logic and holding on to 6th place with 41 points from 7 players…

In the bottom six there’s more business as usual - just with less points! The United Mathisian Kingdom manage a distinctly average 19 points to stay in seventh, with their blushes being spared by eighth place Espoona who, with 7 points, wrestle the wooden spoon away from UMK for the week, and now have 9th placed Principality of Sealand breathing down their neck.

Little to report from the bottom of the league with Pikeland, H.E.R Saints and Maslatonia all staying put – though with 31 points H.E.R. are within 3 points of leapfrogging Pikeland into 10th place.

So there you go, a warm and sunny week for some – freezing sone storms for others. But don’t depair!! With the Christmas fixture list in backlog, the next week of play is from Tuesday 30th November through to Thursday 2nd December so another opportunity to climb the MicroNations League ladder!! See you very soon.
