Results from a Busy Week of MicroSoccer and a Well-Earned Break to Come

Phew – that was a rollercoaster ride of a week! Lots of games in play – both Premier League and FA Cup -  but it won’t be long until the MicroNations League Cup gets polished up and sent off for engraving with the league winner: just 8 more weeks!

What’s more, I am sure you are aware it is Lord Watitune’s birthday coming up (April 2nd). A word has been had with the FA and the English Premier League and in recognition of this important date you are ALL getting a break from the hectic day to day Management duties of MicroFootball. That’s right – NO games next weekend with the next games taking place on 2nd April – time for those of you in the MicroAFL comp to focus on our team and try to figure out what on earth Aussies football’s rules are (I’ve lived here 12 years and still haven’t figured it out).\

Anyway, first there is the little matter of how things stand in the league table right now…

Sitting pretty and looking increasingly comfortable in top spot are Shedingeh, who will be pleased with their 70 point haul – even more so seeing as the New Weddington Warriors had a poor showing in the week, still in second but on 37 points are they suffering from transfer fatigue…? One thing for sure the Lundenvic Lions are ready to pounce on second place with a decent 63 points at the firt sign of weakness.

In fourth are Lehmark FC Legends – still hovering around the 1000 point mark and needing a late burst of inspiration if they are to have a look-in for a runner’s up medal spot. Do-able though… especially with Novascurra Jesters losing ground in 5th place with a decidedly ordinary 28 points this week.

In sixth is the Isle of Lithua. Still. If that surprises you, you havn’t been reading these updates for the past few months 😊

Further down the league Espoona hang onto 7th place with a 43 point week which they needed, with H.E.R. Saints also having a decent week of 40 points after a nightmare of a week previously, lifting them up from 10th place up to 8th. It’s a tight tussle just below them however – with Pikeland Holy Crusader just 9 points behind the Saints and United Mathisian Kingdom one point behind them – despite dropping 2 places with a truly woeful 8 points!

1 points behind them, in 11th place, Maslatonia seem to  have woken up with decent 43 points and a glimmer of hope for moving up the lower table… only 8 weeks left but plenty of games crammed into those.

And so we come to the bottom spot. Oh dear, oh dear, Sealand.  5 points for the week and still clutching that wooden spoon, this wonderful exemplar of a micronation might want to forget their Micronational Cup in this season, though good to see them in the newly launched MicroAFL…

So that’s the state of play for the League so far – for those of you who have a break next weekend if you’re free to strategize, socialise and complain about how there’s nothing decent on Netflix. For those of you who signed up for the MicroAFL competition you can read thru the leagues’ Q&A, strategize, and do a bit of lower level training. Take care all, and see you on the 2ND APRIL (Did I mention that’s my birthday? 😊 😊)
