With the ongoing success of the current MicroNations Soccer League Cup, we have set up a similar comp a bit closer to home - a MicroCricket Cup based on the hugely popular Aussie Big Bash T20 League that started on December 5th. As with the soccer league, you don't need to be an expert, it's free, a good way of competing without fake wars(!), and of course there's a real life Trophy for the winner’s silverware cabinet!
For the league’s inaugural season we have gone for the option of a six team format and I’m chuffed to say we have a full league of competitors… you’ll know Anni Crowhurst of the Empire of Lehmark with her Lehmark Lightning team, and of course the New Weddington Warriors are looking to replicate their success (so far) from the soccer version.
We also welcome 4 new competitors: Guha’s XI (representing The State of Vishwamitra), Jelisa (The New Principality of Hutt River), Thomas Sangster (Sangster’s Paradise) and elusive Phantom (of The Dominion of Dougherty Island) – good luck all and welcome to MicroCricket!
Lord Watitune will be managing the first few rounds before handing over to Kate Revill for the rest of the season, whilst his Lordship focuses on matters of state (and the soccer!).
As this is a smaller league, we will not be adding extra posts to the Micronations, instead we will be posting a review after each round on the New Weddington website cricket news page with a link from my newsfeed to:

Even if you are not a competing member feel free to check in and root for your favourite micronation – especially if you are a citizen of one of them!
