Sadly, due to the various constraints put upon national and international by the C19 virus, the New Weddington Warriors virtual AFL team have had to abandon their inaugural season in the league. It has been confirmed that a team will not be fielded in the 2020/2021 season though e are fully committed to the following season.
The same applies to the English Premier Soccer league in which the New Weddington Isles FC participated, reaching a creitable 2nd place before abandonment.
There is good news however! The Department of Sports and Culture has just announced that the nation will be fielding a virtual league team in the Australian Big Bash Twenty20 Cricket league. This is a huge event in Australia and viewed worldwide. It is especially fitting as the New Weddington Isles currently maintain their Primary Consul in Canberra, the capital of Australia.
