A second loss in a row to a strong field showed up continuing weaknesses in the New Weddington Warriors squad, remaining 10th in the fantasy league ladder.
They came up again a stronger side in the ‘Avondale Premiers’ leading to defeat and stalling the Warrior’s climb up the league ladder; with goal of finishing in the top eight, a position which would see them enter the Grand Final stages at the end of the season.
A sports spokesperson said of the result: “we were up against a strong opponent again this weekend, but if we are to make the Grand Final Rounds Top 8 we need to make sure that every one of our two weekly transfers counts towards strengthening the squad. A Grand Final place is still achievable, but this defeat is another setback and we are running out of games to claw back those extra 2 places on the ladder.”
