So, what does Round 16 of the MicroAFL League bring us? Well, a very grumpy Lordship for a start – having made the correct tip for the first game of the weekend, I realised I’d accidently logged onto a test site I set up at start of season, not my “live” site. This meant it defaulted an away team win so I missed out on a correct tip!! Still, I’m not bitter. Really.
And to be honest I need more than one correct tip to challenge Shedingeh this week who stay top of the pile on 98 points, though a resurgent HER Crusaders have gained a point on them with a decent 7 points, cutting the gap to just 9.
Third place Westarctica – once sitting comfortably in lead spot – also gain 7 tips, their 88 total taking them to within 1 point of nicking second place… showing that this is not a one horse race and there are still winning chances out there!
Woodlandia also manage a 7 points haul to keep within touching distance of Westartica with 85 to their 88 and cementing their fourth spot with a decent shot at third place. New Weddington miss out on joining the 80 point club in 5th place but we won’t dwell on that! One bonus is that they have pulled away from 6th place Lehmark Sports who join Hutt River, Begley Commonwealth and Sealand in the 3 tips club this week.
The big story here is the close battle between Begley Commonwealth and Sealand to avoid the bottom spot wooden spoon – a dubious honour that Sealand also managed in the 2021/22 MicroNations Soccer League….
… talking of which that time of year has nearly arrived with the second season starting soon on August 5th 2022 (I know!!).
