The national New Weddington Warriors were denied a dream restart to the Aussie Rules virtual football season by Dazza's Stars, who dominated the weekend - winning by 1613 points to 1342.
Minister for Culture, Sports and Arts, and current team coach Raleigh Herne, said after the game: "It was always going to be a tough restart but we suffered from some poor scores, being a team member down from the start and a performance from our Captain that could have been better. But let's be positive, it's only 2 games into the season and while we're currently 14th on the ladder, we're still joint 5th except for goal difference, There's plenty more games to play - this is a marathon not a sprint - and we are confident of targeting the finals later in the season.
"We need to learn from this weekend, use our 3 weekly transfers wisely and bolster our firepower where needed, It'll take some time but time is on our side right now."
Next up the Warriors face the Ashmore Hawks, currently sitting at 7th in the table.
