With the Tipping season for AFLW finishing at Round 10 (finals knock-outs aren’t included), the pioneering 3 micronations taking their first steps in the Aussie Rules now have a breather…. Until the MicroAFL Men’s League starts on 16th March!!
So how did we do – well a first showing against seasoned micronation competitors was always going to be tough, and so it proved!
Final Round saw The New Weddington Warriors flying the micronational flag with a 14th spot putting them in the top half of a 39 strong field. Lehmark Sports ended on 20th after a season of criss-crossing with New Weddington, and kudos too to Shedingeh who climbed a place to 31 – not aa bad showing considering they joined the league late…
So that’s wrapped up that – the men’s MicroAFL will be a totally micronational only affair so expect a more level playing field and fiercer competition as the teams vie for the MicroAFL 2022 Medal, designed by our very own Hon Lady Kate Revill.
Delighted we have a creditable total of eight teams in the league – including the Principality of Sealand (let’s hope they can improve on their MicroSoccer performance!), The Kingdom of Woodlandia and of course the usual suspects from the AFL women’s comp.
Still time to add to the league so spread the word – micros can still sign up after 16th and get allocated away point wins for the rounds they miss 😉
